After a stellar end to his first season with the Storm, opening and closing his grand final debut with the first and last tries of the game, the young winger brought his season total to 23 tries. Eight rounds into the 2018 season and Josh Addo Carr is making headlines again with an impressive scoring record of 8 tries in 8 games and is chasing Fusitu'a's title as the league's leading try scorer with his 10 tries so far this year.
Addo-Carr navigated past four defenders in an 80 metre sprint to the line in the Storm's relentless 50-10 domination in their ANZAC Day match against the Warriors. At the post-game press conference, Storm Captain and Queensland Skipper Craig Smith, said the thought of Josh making an appearance as part of the Blues' lineup is "a scary thought". After such an impressive first two years with the Storm, speculation is building to the very likely possibility that Josh will make that 'scary thought' a reality as a key addition to the Blues team this year.
In a previous FanCast on CoStar (an app and website that allows fans to video chat with sportspeople and celebrities), Matthew, a big fan of Addo-Carr asked Josh about his aspirations to play Origin. Josh, fresh from his grand final win, said "Hopefully the opportunity comes up soon, but I'm just focused on playing good footy for the Storm. Just really enjoying my football and happy, hopefully the opportunity comes up soon".
As the fastest man in not only the NRL but also both AFL and international Football/Soccer, according to data published by the Herald Sun, there is no doubt Addo-Carr would make for a great addition to the Blues lineup.
